Halfway Through 2019, Referee’s Whistle Blows…

Jul 23, 2019

It doesn’t matter how tightly you membrane your calendar, those months still seem to zoom by. Here we are then, in the middle of the year and it’s time for an update.

So, what’s been happening at Watertight? Well we’ve been keeping things safe, how safe?

Staying Safe – The Watertight Way

We strive to have a successful and functional health and safety program. The benefits are huge all round – our staff go home safely at the end of the day, we have peace of mind, and our clients can trust we are fulfilling all H&S requirements as well as following safe practices.

Green Certified – Safe As!

Last year we participated in a Sitewise Contractor Pre-Qualification assessment, and were awarded a Green Certificate for our trouble. This means Watertight are deemed to have a quality health and safety system in place – happy days.

Say ‘Hi!’ To Carolyn – She Is Keeping Everyone Focused…

As part of our Health and Safety focus, we have welcomed on board Carolyn White, our new Office Manager and Health & Safety Representative. Carolyn is a born and bred Kiwi, she has been living in Wanaka for about 3 years. Carolyn brings a wealth of knowledge to our business and loves the outdoors of Central Otago. One of Carolyn’s primary focuses is to make sure Watertight Systems complies to the highest standard with all H&S requirements. This involves getting her high-vis and steel caps on from time to time, and getting out amongst it on site with our wonderful applicators. She also helps to run our regular H&S meetings… she is a talented allrounder!

If you’d like to talk H&S with Carolyn she can be contacted on 021761642 or at admin@watertightsystems.co.nz

OK – we’re safety focused! But did you know we’re not coming unstuck anytime soon?

New Glue And It Is Viking Strong!

There’s great excitement in the Watertight camp over the new spray on adhesive from Viking and Sealco! Yes, we are excited about this adhesive& you will be too…

The new glue can be laid in a much wider range of temperature’s than traditional roll on primers, meaning we can now install TPO membranes in temperatures as low as -3.7C. We have had an ongoing battle with laying TPO membranes in winter in the Southern Lakes region, where low temperatures have often caused frustrations and delays for both ourselves and our clients.

This new product is also much faster and easier to install, meaning we will be getting the job done even quicker.

And Finally…Bit Of A Skite…Check Out This Feature Project

Watertight have been involved with some amazing projects in the Southern Lakes and Central Otago Region over the past 6 months.

A stand out project was this Viking Warm Span roof finished with the new Mansard Brown coloured TPO membrane. Viking warm span roof systems consists of a metal tray substrate, high density PIR insulation board and the Viking membrane of your choice.

It’s a fantastic system offering thermal efficiency, an adaptable installation process and a sharp look. If you haven’t seen our time-lapse video of some of the team installing one of these roofs, check it out.

That’s it for our mid year round up. Until we check in again, remember to keep it tight, and if you need any help with your waterproofing, use your membrane and give us a call!
